…that which is ugly transfigured into beautiful…
#161 metamorphosis …when an ugly worm or caterpillar is confined to a tomb, which it spins for itself. Then when it appears to be lifeless and formless, out immerges a beautiful and radiant butterfly with wings to soar.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
I too was a worm and there was nothing good in me. But one night a metamorphosis occurred in my life and when the process was completed, I emerged no longer a worm … the worm died but a New Creature in Christ Jesus! I have not yet fully developed into all I will be…I am still on my journey… but I thank God I am not what I used to be!!!

#147 words about Lent…
“Lent. It’s the preparing the heart for Easter. Like going with Jesus into the wilderness for forty days, that we might come face to ugly face with our enemy. Our sacrificing that we might become more like Christ in His sacrifice.”
“Lent isn’t about forfeiting as much as it’s about formation.”
~ Ann Voskamp

“Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards,
You will take me into Glory.
Whom have I in heaven but You?
And earth has nothing I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.”
Psalm 73:23-26
#129 “Remembering is an act of thanksgiving, a way of thanksgiving, this turn of the heart over time’s shoulder to see all the long way His arms have carried. ‘Gratitude is the memory of the heart,’ writes Jean Baptiste Massieu, but gratitude is not only the memories of our heart; gratitude is a memory of God’s heart and to thank is to remember God. “ - Ann Voskamp One Thousand Gifts
